Global AI and tech week: transforming now for what's next

From 6–10 July, thousands of colleagues from across our network came together for Global AI and tech week, a worldwide programme dedicated to artificial intelligence, technology and innovation.

With sessions synchronised across time zones to enable participation from teams wherever they sit, the event explored how AI is reshaping the future of professional services, how business expectations are evolving, and how technology can help create greater value while maintaining the human expertise and professional judgement that clients trust. The week combined leadership perspectives, external speakers, practical demonstrations and real-world examples of AI in action.

Turning innovation into impact

Throughout the week, discussions focused on a central theme: AI is more than a technology trend. It is a business transformation, reshaping how work gets done, creating new opportunities to reduce repetitive tasks, unlock deeper insights and focus more time on high-value activities.

Participants explored how AI is already supporting teams across our organisation, from improving productivity and knowledge-sharing to enabling new approaches to client service. Sessions highlighted a practical and responsible approach to adoption, combining technology with human judgement to help organisations navigate increasing complexity and unlock new pockets of value with confidence.

Learning from cross-border collaboration and collective intelligence

A key strength of the week was the opportunity to learn from different perspectives, innovations and use cases from across geographies, service lines and teams, helping successful ideas travel faster and accelerating progress across our firm.

Among those taking part were colleagues from our Compass international mobility programme, whose experience of living and working in different countries gives them a unique perspective on how ideas, technologies and ways of working can be shared across our global network.

“One of the greatest benefits of working in another country is bringing fresh ideas and perspectives back home. The real value comes from exchanging knowledge, tools and technologies that drive efficiency and impact. Collaboration and human connection remain at the heart of transformation.”

- Niwa Fujii, Audit Manager at Forvis Mazars in Japan

External speakers from Microsoft, Artefact and Accelerant Growth Solutions added further insight highlighting key market trends and the organisational changes needed to turn AI into measurable business value.

To add a friendly competitive element, we also organised an international prompt-a-thon. What made this competition exciting was that the submissions put forward by participating teams were not just about writing a good prompt, they were about solving real business problems. The creativity throughout this challenge was impressive. Some prompts focused on client service. Some were designed to improve internal operations. But across the board, they showed that prompting is becoming more than a technical skill. It is becoming a business skill — one that can help us scale expertise across teams, countries and service lines.

“We truly enjoyed participating in the global prompt-a-thon – it was a great experience for our team. Beyond the excitement of the competition itself, we believe that one of the biggest benefits we gained from this event was the opportunity to work together as a team, share ideas, learn from one another and combine our strengths towards a common goal.”

Building future-ready careers

Global AI and tech week reinforced the importance of learning, experimentation and collaboration in building future-ready careers. By bringing together ideas and expertise from across our organisation, the programme helped our talent explore how technology can create new opportunities for our people, support continuous learning and deliver greater value for our clients, transforming now for what’s next. Florence Sardas, Chief Transformation Officer, summed up that opportunity:

"As a global network, we have a unique opportunity to learn from one another, connect ideas across borders and accelerate what comes next. AI is ready – our role is to identify where it can make the greatest difference."
