Tell us about yourself.
I'm Luis Hernández. I'm a civil engineer and a passionate sports enthusiast, regardless of the sport. After working as an engineering professor for two years, I had the opportunity to take a big step towards information systems, and after several years in other auditing firms, acquiring training and experience in system review, I joined Mazars in 2020 as manager of the IT audit specialist team.
What do you like most about your job?
In a changing world, where technology plays an increasingly important role, being able to understand and analyse clients' systems and help them improve their control over them is a constant source of satisfaction.
What is IT auditing all about?
Understanding, understanding, understanding. Each client works in a different way, and each auditor approaches the review in the most tailored manner to the specific situation at that particular moment. As a team of specialists, we must be capable of quickly grasping all of this in the most agile way possible.
What do you like most about Mazars?
The Mazarians community and the proactivity of our people when it comes to making plans with other members of the firm. From the running club or paddle tournaments to the project closure meals, we really get to know the more human side of the teams we work with.
What have you learnt at Mazars?
In moments of high tension or heavy workload, the strongest personal bonds are formed. There is not a single workday where you don't learn something new or face a new challenge. This dynamism keeps me awake and eager to continue growing within the firm.
Any final words for your colleagues?
I believe it is a good time to contribute and move forward because we are facing many new challenges. If we are a unified team, I have no doubt that we will be able to solve them together.
